NOTES ON OTHER GROUPS
Ben's Education Group -
- Visually the piece was impressive and managed to weave together lots of different aspects to human rights in education.
- Robotic representation of putting hands up leading into being stuck in that one singular movement was amazing -> could tell the work came from what they wanted to say as young people. Clear comment on the rigidness and strictness of schools, and how there isn't much room for expression and speaking out
- The difficulty in spelling of more creative words compared to the perfect spelling of funding had a siginifcant impact on me. I thought this was a really genius way to incorprate the ideas around prioritising money and corprate things rather than the actual development of young people.
- Had an well rehersed flow and commitment to movement.
Jack's Education Group -
- I thought the movement of being in a circle raising hands and pulling them back down again was really effective. It was clear in what it was trying to convey and as an audience of young people resonated a lot with my own experience of education. Ingteresting how it was the other kids putting their hands up who were also responsable for silencing the others
- This piece was a lot more physical and abstract in the way it represented things, I would love it if we could keep some of these qualities when we combine them all together.
- There was also a lot of incorparation of breath that went alongside the movement. This aspect gave it another dynamic, creating more depth in the movement and therefore allowing it to impact the audience more. Breath normally comes naturally with moving anyway, I think it would hinder our performance if we were to suppress this almost primar instinct of our. By releasing our breath we unlock a fluidity and connection to the movement that is more deeeply routed in how we move as living beings.
